"Since 1998, the County of Marquette, Michigan has continued an aggressive program for the redevelopment and civil conversion of the former K.I. Sawyer AFB. Since that time, Sawyer International Airport has completed the renovation of all 600-series aircraft hangars. For Hangars 661, 663, 665 and 667, we made the smart decision to install the Mega-Door series of aircraft hangar doors.
The ease of use of the Mega Door product, including the type of door fabric, provides for an overall improved retention of heat in the hangar bay, and has allowed Sawyer's main hangar tenant to achieve significant reductions in the cost to heat the hangar during the long Upper Peninsula winters.
