Weatherstrip and weather seal doors now to multiply savings

Posted: 20-Jun-2011

Seasons change, but facilities managers know that one thing remains: energy costs. Weatherseal and weatherstrip your hangar doors and industrial doors now and watch the energy savings multiply.

The sooner you start, the sooner you'll start seeing the savings, and the sooner you'll protect your enterprise from likely energy cost spikes. Door systems are probably the single biggest source of energy loss in most hangar, garage, military and industrial facilities. Some of that energy is lost through convective radiation through the door itself. But the largest volume of energy loss can simply be related to the amount of cold/warm air infiltration moving through decomposed seals at all door joints – panel to panel, panel to jamb, floor, lintel and top guides as well. Anywhere there is a joint, there is air infiltration and heat loss. You can control this by installing the correct type and profile of weatherstripping. Neoprene, EPDM and Brush Seal – we do them all.

That's good news if you have been dreading replacing your older big doors for energy reasons. Have it weathersealed, keep conditioned air inside and keep your facility's energy budget in line. And, depending on where your facility is located, you may benefit in more ways than energy savings alone.
